“Chef Rick'' is a professional chef for more than 25 years. He earned his B.S. in Food Science and Nutrition from UMASS Amherst and a Master of Science from the prestigious Johnson & Wales University, where he had a 10-year career as both an executive and professor. He has been a member of the American Culinary Federation for over 25 years.

Today, he is touted as one of only a handful of chefs in the country with the expertise to create masterful recipes that can be mass produced without losing quality in taste or texture. This comes from his passion for food and in-depth knowledge of large scale manufacturing.

When he’s not in the Test Kitchen or the plant Chef Rick enjoys spending time and cooking with his wife, two sons, and three daughters.

Tom McMillen

Tom McMillen is a 30-year veteran of the food industry and possesses a true passion when it comes to the meat industry. Many of his customers have shared with him that it’s hard not to be excited when working side by side with him on a project. Tom’s passion and commitment for going the extra mile is unmatched in the industry and is what drives him on a daily basis. He truly treats each customer like a partner and is committed to ensuring that Value Added Food Group not only meets expectations, but always exceeds them.

When Tom isn't working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He’s also dedicated to serving his faith and guiding others as a leader in his church.

Howard has had a passion for food since he was 11 years old when he started working for a local caterer.

After operating a highly successful high-end catering business for nearly two decades, Howard joined the nationally-syndicated Mr. Food organization as its Creative Director. Over the years, he grew the business by bridging consumer taste profiles with the company's TV segments, cookbooks, and hugely popular website.

Today, he is the Mr. Food Test Kitchen's on-air personality is seen daily in more than 120 TV markets. Howard brings a lifetime of food, marketing and relationships to Value Added Food Group.

When Howard isn’t working, he spends time with his wife Patty, who operates a high volume Test Kitchen, and loves to entertain, bike, and work in their garden.
